* Speed pedelec is a faster electric bicycle with a maximum speed of 45 km/h. In the Netherlands, a helmet, registration and insurance are mandatory for these kind of bicycles. Furthermore, owners of a speed pedelec are obliged to follow the same traffic rules as that of mopeds.
