As was the case in past years, electronic transfers were, by far, the most used means of transfer by which remittances were received in Mexico in 2022. The value of remittances received by electronic means in the Latin American country amounted to more than ** billion U.S. dollars in 2022, up from around **** billion reported a year earlier. Furthermore, the majority of remittances sent to Mexico that year were transferred via non-bank institutions.
