In the fourth quarter of 2023, MetLife reorganized from five segments into six segments: Group Benefits, RIS, Asia, Latin America, EMEA, and MetLife Holdings. The businesses of Group Benefits and RIS were previously reported as the U.S. segment.
In 2023, MetLife had the highest operating earnings in the domestic market. MetLife is a global American life insurance company headquartered in New York and is one of the world's leading insurance, annuities, and employee benefit providers. The operating earnings from the U.S. segment amounted to over three billion U.S. dollars that year. This was followed by Asia, with operating earnings worth approximately 1.3 billion U.S. dollars.Â
