There are a variety of treatment options and skin care products used for acne. Despite acne being a common skin condition, recent estimates indicate that acne treatment products contributed a small amount to the overall sales of skin care products globally.

U.S. acne treatment market

In the U.S., Neutrogena had the highest share of sales for acne medications and treatments in the past. In the U.S. some acne products require a prescription and some do not. Among prescription oral acne drugs, Oracea has a leading position, while among topical prescription acne drugs, Epiduo is one of the dominating products.
