To compare the average price of a taxi and uberX fare, the fares for uberX rides undertaken in August 2015 were re-calculated with the taxi fare structure in each city.
As all uberX rides are booked and paid for through the uberX app, the uberX fares include a booking fee if applicable and the relevant credit card surcharge for each city.
