More than ** percent of the beer sold in those two Nordic countries was sold in cans. Packaging material like refillable glass bottles are less established for beer, but still have a share of around ** percent. All cans in Norway and Finland include a deposit which can be refunded at special return machines placed in most supermarkets.
Both countries have their own government-owned monopoly of alcohol retail: Vinmonopolet in Norway and Alko in Finland. Only alcoholic beverages up to an alcohol volume of **** percent in Norway and *** percent in Finland can be found in domestic supermarkets.
