Data of previous years were taken from past reports. The Local Newspapers Division includes 18 local newspapers published by the Group in 10 Italian regions. Starting from 2017, the national newspaper La Stampa and Il Secolo XIX are also included in this business unit. GEDI, previously known as 'Gruppo Editoriale L'Espresso' completed the important merger agreement with Itedi Italiana Editrice in 2017.

In Italy, the circulation revenue of local newspapers of the media conglomerate GEDI group decreased from 172.5 million euros in 2018 to 158.7 million euros in 2019. In the first half of 2020, it amounted to 74.3 million euros.
