Together with Facebook, MobilePay was the mobile app which Danes considered to be most important in 2020. ** percent of the respondents to a survey stated that these two apps were one of the three apps they least could do without, whereas Facebook Messenger came in just after them, with ** percent of respondents finding it important. Rejseplanen ranked last in the list and only **** percent of Danes considered it to be among the three apps they could least do without that year. It was no surprise that MobilePay was found so vital, since it also ranked second among the most preferred payment methods in Denmark in 2019, right after card payment.

Why selected payment methods?

  In 2019, consumers were asked why they picked selected methods and they could choose between safe, simple and fast. The leading reason for choosing MobilePay among Danes that year was that it was considered simple. Nearly half of the respondents thought it was fast. In contrast, half of the respondents chose PayPal or similar, because they found it safe to use.

Number of apps

  There were almost no Nordic citizens with no apps installed on their phones in 2019. Over ** percent of all Nordic respondents had between ** and ** apps installed on their phones. Nearly ** percent of Danes reported to have ** apps or more on their phones and only *** percent had no apps at all.
