The statistic illustrates the usage of sharing economy platforms among business travelers in the Netherlands in the first quarter of 2016. In this quarter, roughly ** percent of the Dutch business travelers taking part in this survey answered they do not use the sharing economy platform of private home rentals. Roughly ** percent answered the same for Taxi services. However, a little less than a quarter mentioned that they use private home rentals such as Airbnb, but during holidays. A little less than **** percent is also using it during business trips or both.
When looking at the motivations to use Airbnb in the Netherlands, it reflects the same development as stated above. Roughly ** percent of the guests said their motivation to use Airbnb is because of vacation reasons. Visiting family and friends or professional reasons is, with a little more than **** percent, a much less chosen reason to use Airbnb.
