By comparison, since the 90s, the per capita consumption of wine increased strongly, reaching a volume of almost ** liters in 2018.

Beer consumption 

  Though the general consumption of alcohol decreased in recent years, the annual volume of consumed beer in Norway remained stable in the years from 2008 to 2018. By reaching the age of ** individuals are allowed to buy beer, and the amount of beer consumed per person in the country amounted to ** liters by the end of this period.

Spirits consumption

In selected years from 1950 to 2018, the average volume of spirits consumed per capita in Norway generally decreased. It was lowest from 2015 to 2018, amounting to a consumption volume of *** liters per person. The legal drinking and purchasing age for beverages with an alcohol content higher than ** percent is 20 years and older.
