* This figure was obtained by adding the number of patents registered to both Airbus France (80) and Airbus Deutschland GmbH (99). These figures are not likely to be directly comparable with other years published in this list, as figures for the entire Airbus group do not appear to be merged under the name "Airbus Operations S.A.S." as they are in every other year apart from 2015.
** This figure was obtained by adding the number of patents registered to Airbus Operations GmbH (225) and Airbus Operations S.A.S. (200). This is the first year in which data for Airbus Operations GmbH is published and the presence of two Airbus companies on the list calls into question the accuracy of this figure for the Airbus group at large.

This report usually combines the number of patents granted to subsidiary companies with the number of patents granted to their parent company, however this is the only case in the annual reports published from 2013 onwards. As a result, some additional patents may have been registered to subsidiary companies which are not included in the report.
The source notes that it "makes reasonable efforts to avoid errors, but cannot guarantee accuracy" of the published figures.
