The investigation used samples of programs showed on the different TV-channels that belong to the Flemish Radio and Television Broadcasting Organization (VRT) and that were own VRT productions. Furthermore, the investigation used broadcasting days spread over the entire year. For the investigation they selected programs that were shown between 12 a.m. and 18 p.m. and between 23 p.m. and 24 p.m. (not prime time), and between 18 p.m. and 23 p.m. (prime time). Extra samples were used for Ketnet (the children and youth channel from VRT) and some specific programmes that are not specifically mentioned in the methodology.
For the sample 84 recording days were used, 1,356 different TV programmes, and 14,043 actors.
