Up to 1992: western federal states only; from 1993 onwards both western and eastern federal states.
Production figures refer to the following product segments: mineral water, soft drinks and cola drinks, juice spritzers, flavored water, diet soft drinks, vitamin and mineral drinks (multivitamin juices and sports drinks), other soft drinks (e.g. carbonated soft drinks, tonic water), fruit juice (without nectars and milk-based mixed drinks), as well as ready-to-drink coffee and tea drinks (incl. those containing fruit juice).
Figures do not include alcohol-free beer and other non-alcoholic drinks (not containing milk fat; not containing nectars), e.g. nutritional drinks for children, non-alcoholic wine (alcohol content 0.5 percent or under), non-alcoholic malt drinks, organic wheat cocktails, fiber drinks, milk substitutes such as soy-based drinks.
Some figures were taken from previous publications. Due to a change in system classifications, figures from 2009 onwards are not entirely comparable to those of previous years.
