Updated results are displayed: the most recent census in each case is the base for updating the population numbers (the last census took place in 2011). The updating of total population numbers, in addition to by age and gender, takes place based on statistical results for natural population changes (births, deaths), as well as geographical population movement (migration across municipal boundaries), which were created based on administrative data. The basic data for birth and death statistics are provided by local statistical offices. The regional allocation occurs in accordance with the place of residence of the mother regarding newborns or the place of residence of the deceased. The basic data for migration statistics are provided by registration offices.
