Additionally, these data do not include those materials transported by the generator directly to secondary processors, such as, pulp and paper mills while bypassing entirely any firm or local government involved in waste management activities.

This statistic displays the volume of waste that has been diverted in British Columbia in 2012, by type of material. During this year, some * metric tons of ferrous metals were diverted from entering the waste stream. The overall amount of waste generated in Canada has increased, however, recycling rates have also increased across most of the country.
