September 2025
Germany
2009 to 2024
Main reception channel
According to the source, the figures refer to primary reception channels, i.e. the reception method used on the main TV set of the household. Accordingly, TV households that received satellite TV on a secondary or tertiary device are not included in this statistic.
Additionally, the source states that the data base of the Astra TV-Monitor 2015 is based on new official demographic statistics, as a result of which the number of TV households decreases from 38.8 million in 2014 to 38.1 million in 2015. The absolute coverage figures of the Astra TV-Monitor 2015 are therefore no longer comparable to the results of previous years, though the market shares and their changes still are.
