Industrial and artisanal bread in Canada
Canadian retail sales for both packaged, industrial bread, and unpackaged, artisanal bread were projected to grow between 2017 and 2022. Leavened industrial bread retail sales stood at roughly *** billion U.S. dollars in 2017 and were expected to reach almost *** billion by 2022. Retail sales numbers for leavened artisanal bread amounted to some *** million U.S. dollars in 2017 and were forecast to grow to an estimated *** billion dollars five years later.
Canada’s favorite bread products
In 2020, the most popular bread products among Canadian consumers were bagels and packaged sliced bread. Over a quarter of Canadians reported that each of these bread types was their favorite. Naans and rolls each accounted for just over ten percent of the votes.
