The number of enterprises in tourism industries in Hungary followed an increasing trend over the period under consideration. As of 2021, over *** thousand enterprises operated in tourism industries.

In alignment with international standards for tourism statistics, enterprises in tourism are defined as an establishment situated or partly situated in the country in which only a single productive activity is carried out or in which the principal productive activity accounts for most of the value added. Tourism industries include accommodation services for visitors, food and beverage serving establishments, and travel agencies and other reservation services.
