Over the past years, the per capita expenditure on outbound leisure trips from Denmark also increased. In 2020, Danes spent on around ten thousand Danish kroner per person for a holiday trip abroad with at least **** overnight stays. That was over **** thousand kroner more compared to 2013.

Favorite holiday destinations

When going on vacation, Spain is the favorite destination among Danes. In 2020, roughly ** percent of all outbound trips made by Danes were notably in the Iberian Peninsula. Norway and Sweden were tied for the second most popular country to visit among the Danes, accounting for ** percent each of all trips abroad in 2020.
