In 2020, China produced around **** million metric tons of steel ingots, **** million metric tons of liquid steel for castings, and more than one billion metric tons of continuously cast semis. In that year, China produced about **** percent of the world's crude steel. In 2021, however, the production volume of continuously cast semis was estimated to decrease.
