Supplementary notes
The cost of risk is "a quantitative measurement of the total costs (losses, risk control costs, risk financing costs and administration costs) as compared to a business sales, assets and number of employees. The purpose of such measure is to determine if the total costs of risk are increasing, decreasing or remaining constant, as a function of the business's economic activity".
100 key European banks, representing approximately 90 percent of the EU 27 banking industry, were screened for the study.
