The distribution of employment in Slovakia among economic sectors was consistent over the observed period. As of 2023, the highest share of people employed was in the service sector at 62.71 percent. Since 2012, this share has increased by nearly 3.5 percent. Around 35 percent of employees worked in the industry, while only about 2 percent were employed in agriculture. The shares in industry and agriculture have decreased since 2012.
