This statistic displays the results of a survey question asking adults in Great Britain whether they believe the average level of alcohol duty placed on wine in the UK (56 percent as of January 2015) is too little, too much or about right. The results, split by frequency of alcohol consumption, showed a correlation between those drinking alcohol more frequently and those believing wine duty was too high. Similarly, there was a correlation between those believing wine tax was 'about right' or 'too little' and those who consumed less or no alcohol. Of respondents consuming alcohol daily/weekly, 72 percent felt wine duty was too much, compared to only 32 percent of non-drinkers.
