The term twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) is an internationally standardized measurement unit in cargo transport.
Container comprises seaborne container and river container. Seaborne container refers to container transported by vessels plying beyond the river trade limits. River container refers to container transported by vessels plying exclusively within the river trade limits. The river trade limits mean the waters in the vicinity of Hong Kong which broadly include the Pearl River, Mirs Bay and Macao, and other inland waterways in Guangdong and Guangxi which are accessible from waters in the vicinity of Hong Kong.
