In April 2020, the Gas and Power division was merged with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy into a new independent company, Siemens Energy AG. This company had some 91,000 employees in 2021.
Siemens AG had about 303,000 employees on its payroll in 2021. The biggest segment in terms of employees was Digital Industries with almost 73,000 employees, followed by Smart Infrastructure with about 70,000 employees.
