The statistic shows the worldwide distribution of insurance premiums from 2011 to 2013. The insurance premium is the amount of money charged by an insurance company for active coverage. In 2011, 36 percent of the value of the world's insurance premiums was charged in Europe. This figure decreased in 2012 to 33 percent but increased yet again to 35 percent in 2013. North America accounted for 30 percent of worldwide insurance premiums in 2013.
