This question was asked in the survey in the following wording: "If you had to choose, which one of these U.S. presidents would you regard as the greatest: George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt, John Kennedy or Ronald Reagan" According to sources, the list of available candidates to choose from was made based on several criteria. Although there were respected and prestigious presidents, party affiliation and special actions during office were the main criteria. The source gives no information on the missing percentage points out of 100 percent.
