This marks an increase of over * million units on the amount shipped in 2013.
Of the appliances shipped in the U.S. in 2013, over ** million were cooking appliances, **** million were dishwashers, and a further million were laundry appliances. Within the laundry appliances category, automatic washers made up over half of the total unit shipments in 2013. In 2017, over ** million refrigerators are expected to be shipped across the United States, as well as over * million microwave ovens.
Whirlpool was the leading vendor in the U.S. home appliance industry in 2013 as the corporation held a market share of just under ** percent.
