Only cities with a population of at least 200,000 were considered.Â

Due to the FBI's transition to a new crime reporting system, not all law enforcement agencies submitted crime data to the FBI. As a result, figures may not accurately reflect the total number of crimes.

In 2024, approximately violent crimes per 100,000 residents were reported in Memphis, Tennessee, making it the most dangerous city in the United States that year. This was followed by Oakland, California, with around **** violent crimes per 100,000 residents during the same period.Â
