Fish meal was the agricultural commodity with the fourth-highest year-on-year price increase worldwide as of February 2026, after different types of wool. Based on the commodity price index, the price for fish meal rose percent between February 2025 and February 2026. Other commodities with steep price increases included wool, lamb, sunflower oil, beef, and soybean oil. Conversely, cocoa experienced the second-highest price drop, at percent. This was a result of prices normalizing after skyrocketing in 2024.
Looking at the index development over time, tea and coffee ranked the highest, indicating the highest price increase since the baseline year 2016.
