The source adds the following information: "the value of production is the amount generated by each unit, based on sales, including changes in inventories and the resale of goods and services. The value of production is defined as the volume of sales or turnover, plus or minus changes in inventories of finished products, products in progress, and goods and services acquired for resale; minus purchases of goods and services for resale, plus capitalized production, plus other operating income (excluding subsidies). Income and expenses classified in business accounting as financial or extraordinary are not included in the value of production."
