This chart shows the life insurance and retirement savings ownership rates of households in France at the beginning of 2021, according to the age of the reference person. At the beginning of 2021, 46.8 percent of French households with a reference person aged 40 to 49 owned life insurance and/or retirement savings, while only 24.4 percent of those under 30 did. The 50-59 age group had the highest share of holders, with 53 percent.
