But what is the current size of the animation market? At the end of 2024, this sector was estimated to be valued at about billion U.S. dollars. And while much of this is due to both the United States and Japan—after all, anime is an intrinsic part of Japanese culture—the weight of the Spanish industry has gradually increased thanks to the success of films such as Planet 51, the Tad, The Lost Explorer saga, and the more recent Mummies, even being recognized by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on more than one occasion.
