Novartis focuses its activity on two main divisions in which it has the capacity to innovate on a global scale: pharmaceutical and oncology (Innovative Medicines) and generic drugs (Sandoz). In turn, Sandoz acts as an intermediary company and distributor of drugs to third parties under its name. Until 2019, Novartis also had a division for vision care (Alcon), which was spun off that same year.
