During the second quarter of 2020, the gross domestic product (GDP) of the transportation, postal, and storage sector in Mexico experienced the worst decline in its history due to the health emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. From April to June 2020, the GDP in this sector exceeded * trillion Mexican pesos, representing a decrease of around ** percent compared to the value recorded in the same quarter of the previous year. From there, it gradually recovered to the point that, in the first quarter of 2024, the highest figures of the entire period were reached.
