Gender digital gap: mobile phone ownership among boys and girls in Spain 2007-2024
The gender digital gap is calculated by subtracting the percentage of girls who own mobile phones from the percentage of boys who own them. Throughout the analyzed period, 2023 was the only year in which boys surpassed girls in the possession of these devices, although by a difference of just *** percentage points. In 2024, this trend reversed, and the share of girls with mobile phones exceeded that of boys by *** percentage points.
