This statistic shows the extent of rice grain cultivation area in the European Union from 2015 to 2023. In the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 growing seasons, the largest area of rice was cultivated in European countries, with ** hectares. After a period of downward trend, a slight recovery was observed in the 2019/2020 season with ** hectares, an area that remained unchanged in the following season, before resuming a gradual decline in the next two seasons. In fact, it is estimated that in 2022/2023 the cultivated area of this type of grain will be below *** hectares.
