This refers to the percentage of liquid assets required as a capital buffer, calculated in accordance with the Guidelines of the European Banking Authority on the identification of O-SIIs (EBA/GL/2014/10).

Article 43 of Law 10/2014, of June 26, imposes the obligation on credit institutions to comply with the combined capital buffer requirement, understood as the total common Tier 1 capital necessary to meet the obligation to maintain a capital conservation buffer.

The Bank of Spain has ratified the designation of Banco Santander, BBVA, CaixaBank, and Banco Sabadell as Other Systemically Important Institutions (O-SIIs) in the country for 2025. These entities, given their size and international relevance, are required to hold a higher capital buffer. Thus, for that year, the required capital will range between **** percent and **** percent of their assets.
