This statistic presents the annual number of international tourists who stayed overnight in non-hotel accommodations in Spain from 2000 to 2023. Between 2000 and 2019, the annual number of foreign residents who did not stay in hotels or similar accommodations increased from 13.46 million to nearly 30 million. However, the restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic caused a significant decline in the figure in 2020, which fell below 8.2 million for the first time during the entire period. In the following years, however, it resumed its growth path, approaching 28 million in 2023.
