This statistic shows the annual evolution of the cargo transported by international maritime freight in Spain between 2007 and 2021. Maritime freight transport entered a recessionary trend that culminated in 2009 with international mobility of nearly *** million tons. Since then, international maritime freight transport has only increased, with the exception of 2020 due to restrictions resulting from the pandemic. In that year, a total of million tons were transported by sea. In 2021, the upward trend resumed, surpassing *** million for the first time.
