This statistic presents the distribution of new car sales in France, by type of purchase and by manufacturer, in 2022. The practice of leasing, that is, using deferred payment, greatly expanded in the French automotive market in 2022. Indeed, for nearly twenty manufacturers, the majority of new car sales were made via leasing, generally using lease with purchase option (LOA) rather than long-term rental (LLD).
