* This competition has brought together the four Anglo-Saxon nations since 1996 under the name Home International Championship. The competition then became the Five Nations Tournament with the inclusion of France in 1999, as well as in 2000 and 2001 with Spain participating instead of Ireland. The tournament expanded to six nations in 2002, and Spain was replaced by Italy in 2006.
The scoring is based on three points for a win, two points for a draw, and one point for a loss.
