All telecom tower sites in Italy, Ireland, and Portugal were owned by neutral host tower companies in 2024. Neutral host tower companies, known as towercos, are independent operators that lease tower space and related infrastructure to mobile network operators (MNOs). In most of Europe’s major markets, however, a significant share of towers are owned directly by MNOs.
