Copper mining in Chile accounted for a gross domestic product (GDP) contribution of over 29 billion U.S. dollars in 2023. In comparison, all other mining activities in the South American country had a total GDP contribution of 10.7 billion U.S. dollars that year, meaning that copper mining is by far the most significant aspect of Chile's mining industry.
