Among the approximately 8,000 respondents who were single, 76.8 percent expressed a desire to start a relationship. The survey was conducted among these 76.8 percent of respondents.
This survey sample shows 61 percent male and 39 percent female respondents. Geographically, most lived in ordinary prefecture-level cities (36 percent), followed by new tier-1 cities (23 percent), tier-2 capitals (18 percent), and tier-1 megacities (14 percent), with 9 percent from rural/overseas areas. The largest age group was 25–29 years old (30 percent), followed by 30-34 (24 percent), 18-24 (23 percent), and 35+ (23 percent).
