From 2016 to 2025, the Plurinational Electoral Organ has received 532 resignations due to harassment and political violence against women elected officials. In 2021, the number of resignations increased sharply to 158 cases. This increase was due to Bolivia's 2021 regional elections and the taking office of new departmental authorities.
