As of 2023, roughly seven out of 10 plastic recyclers in India processed polyolefins. At the time, only *** percent of recycling units processed PET. Nevertheless, despite the lower number of recyclers, over **** of the installed recycling capacity in the South Asian country was for PET, while some ** percent of capacity was for processing polyolefins. In general, the average PET recycling plant has a much larger capacity than that of polyolefins processors.
