As of the second quarter of 2025, almost **** of fixed broadband connections worldwide were fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) or fiber-to-the-building (FTTB) connections. Also known as fiber to the premises (FTTP), these connections use fiber optic cables to deliver an internet connection directly to a home or other building. Other fiber connections may use traditional copper cables for some portion of the connection, such as the final stage from a roadside cabinet to the home.
