The source adds the following information: "Aggregate regional estimates for the Middle East and North Africa are based on the five countries in the region where the practice is concentrated. Support for the practice in Djibouti is measured among ever-married women. The question posed to respondents in Djibouti is different than the standard: 鈥淒o you think the practice is necessary and important to daughters (girls)?鈥 For Djibouti and Egypt, percentages are calculated among all women or men regardless of their knowledge of FGM. For Sudan, data for men are based on an older source as men鈥檚 attitudes were not measured in the latest survey."
