Indirect losses included a decrease in crop production output, lower prices for export-oriented commodities, higher production costs, and a reduction in livestock production.

Agricultural sector losses during the war in Ukraine 2023, by type
As of September 2023, Ukraine's agricultural industry was estimated to have suffered losses of 49 billion U.S. dollars from the Russian invasion that began in February 2022. Direct losses, which included agricultural machinery, inputs, storage facilities, among other factors, were measured at 8.7 billion U.S. dollars.
